The USP-Museum an institution in itself within the university and of the community which housed the collection of objects of artistic, historic, and scientific interest, conserved and displayed for the edification and enjoyment of the university community and of the public. Presently, the literary, biological, anthropological collections are housed either in the Filipiniana or Science laboratory rooms while historical interests such as the Dr. Jose Rizal artifacts, the Katipunan Flag and other objects that have historic significance are exhibited at the Alumni Hall. The USP-Museum since its operation in the 1950's still stand to its mission today by providing educational information most particularly to our students by having its Social Science subjects such as the Rizal course and History as part of their learning guides in their classes. Primary and Secondary students are also enjoined by their teachers on how relative the collections of the university museum to our country's rich historical and culturai heritage that their patriotic fervour will be awakened by seeing the historical collections of the museum. Our commitment will continue to serve, educate, impart our priceless collections and knowledge to our students and the public as our humble contribution to National Social Transformation by at least influencing them to be heroes of the new millennium. |
