The Gorordo Family Derived its Wealth
from Agriculture and Trade

Parian district, where Casa Gorordo is situated, acquired the reputation as "the riches stand most productive" district, and the "center of commerce" in Cebu in the 1860's. Here resided prominent families of Cebu which were aristocratic in behavior and overtly religious. One of such families was the Gorordo family which derived its wealth from agriculture and trade.
